Sakhr Software, a company specialising in Arabic natural language processing, has acquired Dial Directions, a service that provides verbally asked directions via SMS. Why should we care? Because if all goes well, a real-time voice translator may soon be available for your mobile. Working through the cloud, the app will send words or sentences through Sakhr’s translation software, analysing it before sending it back to your mobile. And thanks to 3G speeds, it’ll all happen in a matter of seconds. Useful, no?
